Joseph Earl Masden, 88, of Owensboro, KY, died Thursday, April 20, 2006, at his home. He was born on October 22, 1918 in Louisville, KY to the late Benjamin Franklin and Emma (DeWitt) Masden. He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church. He was dedicated to his work as a manufacturer representative for Pioneer Furniture Company. He was a devoted father to his family and was an avid golfer.. He was preceded in death by a son, Cohen Masden on August 23, 1999.
He is survived by five children, Camilla Ward of Asheville, NC, Frank Masden and Lelia Gillespie both of Lexington, KY, Collins Masden of Richmond, KY and Tyler Masden of Mt. Juliet, TN; four grandchildren, Laurie, Anne, Taylor and Nicholas; a great granddaughter, Emily, and a sister, Laverne Larkin of Los Alamitos, CA.
Services are at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 24, 2006, at James H. Davis Funeral Home Chapel in Owensboro. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery in Owensboro. Visitation is from 2:00-6:00 p.m. on Sunday and after 9:00 a.m. on Monday at James H. Davis Funeral Home.
