Holsclaw, Bernie, 70, of Louisville, passed away Saturday, February 27, 2010 at Norton Suburban Hospital.
Bernie was a retired school teacher, having taught at the Hardy School in the Arlington (MA.) Public School System, the Archdiocese of Louisville, and the Oldham County Schools at Liberty, Crestwood and Camden Station Elementary.
He graduated from Flaget High School in 1957, Bellarmine University in 1962, and received his Masters from Spalding University. Bernie was a member of the Flaget Alumni Association, Lions Club, and the Cathedral of the Assumption.
His parents, John William, Sr. and Dorothy Louise Hurley Holsclaw preceded him in death.
Survivors include his siblings, John W. Holsclaw, Jr., Ronald Holsclaw, Patricia Kasey and Raymond G. Holsclaw; many dear nieces and nephews and close friends.
The funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Cathedral of the Assumption, 433 South Fifth, with burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Monday at Ratterman and Sons. 3800 Bardstown Road. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to St. Baldrick's or to the Bernie Holsclaw Memorial Fund, c/o 410 Mockingbird Valley Road, #35, 40207 or c/o Camden Station Elementary School.
