Hourigan, Richard "Rich", 58 of Louisville passed away Sunday, March 7, 2010 surrounded by his loving and devoted family after a courageous six year battle with lung cancer.

He was a member of St. Martha Catholic Church, the UAW and a long time member of Woodhaven Country Club. Rich was a graduate of the 1969 Class of Flaget High School. He was an avid golfer, bowler and sports enthusiast and played poker once a month with his close friends. He was a former Little League coach for Hikes Point. His favorite sports teams to follow were the Yankees and the University of Kentucky.

Rich is preceded in death by his father John J. Hourigan, a sister Janice Key and a brother Michael Hourigan.

He is survived by his loving wife Karen Hourigan, a daughter Tara Kaelin (Jim), a son Shaun Hourigan (Jessica), the love of his life his five grandchildren Anthony, Isabella, Hailey, Michael and Dylan. He is also survived by his mother Margaret Hourigan and a brother John Hourigan (Susan).

His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on March 12, 2010 at 10am at Saint Martha Catholic Church; 2825 Klondike Lane, with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 4–8 pm on Wednesday and 2-8pm on Thursday at Ratterman and Son's funeral home; 3800 Bardstown Road. Online condolences can be left at Ratterman.com.

The family would also like to thank Dr. Kenneth Anderson for his compassion and wonderful care that he provided for Rich.
