HOWARD, Velma Marie, 95, passed away Thursday, February 16, 2012 at Norton Audubon Hospital.
She was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church. Velma was also an avid reader and enjoyed crossword puzzles. Most importantly, she loved and cherished her family dearly, praying the rosary daily.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Junius Howard and son, Francis Howard.
She is survived by her beloved children, Jim Howard, Anne Howard, Angela Kaelin (Tony), Rose Howard, Tony Howard (Tricia), Patrick Howard (Ruby), Jeanne Howard, Mike Howard (Greta), Kate Weikel (Ken); grandchildren, Donna Bastin, Debbie Robertson, Chris Kaelin, Robert Kaelin, Stephanie Randall, Ebony Harris, Melissa, Kenny and Tom Weikel; great-grandchildren, Michelle, Peyton, Megan, Alex, Cara, Rachel, Alexis and Olivia; brother, George "Bob" Ballard (Virginia); sister-in-law, Lucille Payne and brother-in-law, Joseph Howard (Helen).
Her funeral Mass will be held Monday 10 a.m. at St. Thomas More, 6105 So 3rd St. with burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation 4-8 p.m. Sunday at Joseph E. Ratterman & Son, 7336 Southside Dr.
