Mary Teresa Askler, 92, of Weirton died Saturday April 7, 2012, in the Mt. Nittany Medical Center, State College, PA.
Born on January 18, 1920, in Wheeling, WV, Mary was a daughter of the late John and Catherine Plecha Wojtaszek. She was also preceded in death by her husband, George John Askler on June 27, 2010; a daughter, Gloria Askler Lilly; five brothers, Leo, Bruno, Alphonse, Sam and Henry Wojtaszek; and a sister, Helen Friedhof.
Mary was a homemaker and a member of the Saint Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church. She also was a member of the Christian Mothers.
She is survived by her two daughters, Georgette Zinaich (Joseph) of Mt Pleasant, SC and Deborah Lower (John) of Port Matilda, PA; a sister, Jane Campbell of Wheeling, WV; 11 grandchildren;8 great grandchildren, and a sister in law Margie Dziatkowicz of Weirton, WV.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 PM Tuesday at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main St, Weirton, WV.
Funeral liturgy with Mass will be celebrated 10 AM Wednesday at St Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Weirton.
Reverend Father Dean Borgmeyer will preside.
Interment will follow at St Paul Cemetery, Weirton.
