Our Lord and Savior needed an angel with a beautiful smile. He received Charles Dustin “Dusty” Carter into his arms on Monday, April 23, 2007.

Dusty was born Feb. 19, 1988 at High Point Regional Hospital. He graduated with his class from Southwest Guilford High School in 2006. Dusty played football for Southwest and lived for the “SACKS.” He was continuing his education at GTCC in Jamestown. Dusty worked for Inovations Imaging and was a member of Central Baptist Church in Oak Ridge.

Dusty is survived by his parents, Charles and Kathy Carter of the home, two sisters; Chelsea Carter of the home, and Lindsey of Asheboro, maternal grandmother Kathryn Harless of Bristol, Va., paternal grandfather Dennis Carter of Fafetteville, several uncles, aunts, and cousins. Dusty’s two best friends, Andrew Gross and Jason Gorrell, his special love Courtney Sherwood and our dear friends Chris, Cindy, Jessie and Seth Walker. Dusty was preceded in death by a very special grandmother Marie Hudson Carter.

Funeral will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday in Central Baptist Church in Oak Ridge by Pastor Roy Carter and Pastor David Williams. Burial will follow in Sandy Ridge United Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday evening 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm at the Cumby Family Funeral Service on Eastchester Dr.

Pallbearers will be as follows and are asked to be at the church at 12:15 P.M. Friday; Andrew Gross, Jason Gorrell, Ricky Harless, Ricky Joe Harless, Terry Harless, Gerald Harless, Chris Walker, and Seth Walker. Honorary bearers will be members of the Southwest Football Team , the Black Hat Family and cousins.
