Anthony James Gilbert, 19, of Philpot, Ky died Sunday, February 17, 2008, at his home. He was born January 7, 1989 in Daviess County, Ky. He was a Senior at Owensboro High School, where he was on the Drama team, and he was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Owensboro. He enjoyed 60's and 70's music, The Chicago Cubs, and was a WWE fan. He was preceded in death by an aunt Jane Lenore Flowers; an uncle Arthur Wood Gilbert; maternal grandparents John and Virginia Foy; a paternal grandmother Elizabeth Gilbert; maternal great-grandparents James Wesley and Maybelle Felts, and William and Ruell Foy; paternal great-grandparents Tony and Bonnie Andrews, and Elma Wood and Jane Gilbert.
He is survived by his parents, James David and Sondra (Foy) Gilbert; two brothers, Chris Gilbert and Daniel Gilbert both at home; a grandfather Robert Gilbert Sr.; three uncles, John Foy and his wife Kathy of St Louis, Mo., Robert (Bob) Gilbert Jr. and his wife Dottie of Utica, and Ron Flowers of Cincinnati; three aunts, Phyllis Foy (Dave) of Hammond, In., Vickie Cunningham of Hammond, IN., and Mary Crouch and her husband Gene of West Liberty, Ohio; a great uncle Robert Foy of Mayfield, Ky.; and many other great aunts, great uncles and cousins.
Services are at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 20, 2008, at James H. Davis Funeral Home Chapel in Owensboro, KY. Entombment will follow in Resurrection Chapel. Visitation is from 3:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday and after 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday at James H. Davis Funeral Home. The family requests that expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Rose Curtain Players, c/o Owensboro High School, 1800 Frederica St., Owensboro, Ky., 42301.
