Donna R. Osborn Slater, 46, of the Orange Grove Community, passed away Thursday March 5, 2009. She was born December 27, 1962, in Pascagoula, MS. She graduated from Live Oak Academy and Jackson County Community College. Ms. Slater attended Midway United Methodist Church and worked as a Floral and Interior designer. When she was 5 years old, she served as the Poster Child for the March of Dimes. She loved to travel to the Smokey Mountains and also to Walt Disney World with her son Kelly. She will be remembered as a loving mother, daughter, sister and friend.
She was preceded by her maternal grandparents O'Donal Adams and Granny Adams, paternal grandfather Rufus Osborn.
She leaves precious memories to her son Kelly Slater of Orange Grove; her parents Wayne and LaNell Osborn of Orange Grove; a brother DuWayne Osborn of Ft. Stewart, GA, paternal grandmother Margie Wiley of Moss Point, dear friends Jennifer Hammond, Joy Wooten and Harold Brown.
Visitation will be Monday March 9, 2009 from 6:00pm to 9:00pm at Heritage Funeral Home in Escatawpa, MS. Services will be Tuesday March 10, 2009, at 11:00am in the chapel at Heritage Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Serene Memorial Garden in Escatawpa, MS, with Sister Patsy Tyner, Rev. M.L. McCormick and Bro. Mitch Osborne officiating.
