Mrs. Kathleen Meares Rodden Duncan, 77, of Monroe, passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2009 at Hospice House of Monroe. Her family will receive friends on Friday, August 21, 2009 from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, Indian Trail Chapel, 4431 Old Monroe Road. Services in celebration of her life will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 22, 2009 at First Baptist Church of Indian Trail with Reverend Mike Whitson and Pastor Joe Haskett officiating. Interment will follow the service in the Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Duncan was born on January 6, 1932 in Fairbluff, NC, daughter to the late Ethel Sealy Meares and Roland Jason Meares. She was preceded in death by her first husband Grady C. Rodden, her second husband Jack D. Duncan and by her brothers, Norlie, Hubert, Luther and Quttie Meares. She was a dedicated and faithful member of First Baptist Church of Indian Trail for many years and loved the time she spent teaching the Senior Ladies Sunday School class and singing in the Church Choir. Kathleen was a graduate of Fair Bluff High School and attended the Charlotte Business School. She worked as an office manager and bookkeeper for many years and last worked for Exhibit World. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend that will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include her sons, Michael C. Rodden, Kenneth A. Rodden and Scott O. Rodden; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and her brothers Russell and Ralph Meares.
