THOMPSON, Frank J. “F.J.”, Sr., 84, of Louisville, passed away Wednesday, February 03, 2010 at Baptist Hospital East.
He was a salesman for Southern Wine and Spirits, a member of St. Martha Catholic Church, a member of the VFW Post in Lebanon, KY, a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus and a U. S. Army veteran of World War II.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank R. and Julia Thompson, a sister, Helen Hart and a daughter-in-law, Harriet Thompson.
Survivors include his wife, Effie Thompson; sons, Frank J. Jr. (Aletia), Stuart (Emma), Mitchell (Mary) and Tim Thompson (Barbara); daughter, AnnCoury Mulloy; brothers, Charles, Walter, John and Kenneth Thompson; sisters, Mary Clare Cobb, Ruby Cecil, Janie Dotson and Anna Marie Thomas; step children, Belinda Walker, Paula McCoy and Timothy McCoy as well as twelve grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 A.M. Saturday, February 6, 2010 at St. Martha Catholic Church, 2825 Klondike Lane with burial to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be 5 – 8 P.M. Thursday and 2 – 8 P.M. Friday at Ratterman & Sons Funeral Home, 3800 Bardstown Road, where a prayer service will be held at 4 P.M. Friday.
Donations may be made to Mass of the Air in his memory.
