BUSCHERMOHLE, BERNITA RIGGS, 72, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 7, 2010, with her family by her side.
She was a devoted and devout Catholic, who was a founding and continuous member of St. Michael Catholic Church for the last 34 years. She graduated from Mercy High School in 1955. She was a loving and caring mother and will be missed by all.
Bernita was preceded in death by her parents, John Paul and Annie Ballard Riggs; and brother, David Riggs.
She was a wonderful wife and survived by her husband of 53 years, John R. Buschermohle, Sr.; sons, J. Robert, Jr. (Denise) and Michael J. (Debby Jo) Buschermohle; daughter, Marcie A. Viers (W.E.); brothers, Norman (Linda), Steve (Babs), Jim "Pat" (Jane), Sherman (Rosemary), Phillip (Jan), Richard (Theresa), Johnny (Terry), and Dennis Riggs; sisters, Janet Pabon (Eddie), and Mary Ann Shemo (Ron); 6 grandchildren; and a multitude of nieces and nephews.
Bernita's family expresses heartfelt thanks and deep appreciation to Devain Weathers, who helped care for her these last years.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated 7:00 p.m., Thursday, February 11, 2010 at St. Michael Catholic Church, 3705 Stone Lakes Drive with burial in St. Edward Cemetery on Friday, February 12, 2010.
Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m., Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at Ratterman & Sons Funeral Home; 3800 Bardstown Road, and on Thursday from 3:30 – 7 p.m., at St. Michael Catholic Church prior to mass.
