Vera Mae Washington was the first child born to the union of John and Velma (Floyd) Albert in Helena, Arkansas from this union three other children were born.

Vera graduated and received her general education diploma from St. Alphonsus Rock High School in 1964. She attended St. Louis Community College at Forest Park and received an Associate�s degree in Respiratory Therapy were soon after she began her career path working in the field of Respiratory Therapy at several area hospitals until she later began work at VA Medical Center in 1978 until she retired. She later attended Webster University where she received her Bachelor�s Degree (94) and Master�s Degree (2002) in Gerontology.

Vera confessed her life to Christ in 1987 and joined Mt. Airy Missionary Baptist Church. She later united with Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church 2000 where she was a member until the present.

Vera is survived by her husband of thirty-two years, Sylvester Washington Sr. her beloved son Sylvester Washington III who preceded her in death in 2004. Five step-children, Marian Deinbo, Sylvester Washington, Jr., Vanessa Lacewell-Washington, Emory Washington who also preceded her in death, Derwin Washington, one brother John D. Albert Sr. who also preceded her in death, sister-in-law Dorothy Albert, two sisters: Sharon Warren and Valeria L. Albert, her parents John and Velma Albert; Nieces, Nicole Albert, Keeana Warren and Khalah Albert, Nephews, John Albert III, Micheal Lewis, John-Thomas Albert, Marcus Albert and Curtis Albert, Grand Nephews, Nicolas, Kyjuan, Keshawn and Kenyon; a host of cousins and other relatives and friends.
