I will always be thankful to Jerry for his friendship and compassion he showed me and my family. I was blessed to have known him as a friend and as a man of God.

Dearest Carol,
I just heard of Jerry’s passing. My memories were flooded with the warmest thoughts as I recalled your family’s generosity and kindness to me during my years in Marshall, Texas. I have the most wonderful memories of times of fellowship with your family at your wonderful home on the lake. You and Jerry had such tremendous faith in God and the most godly, pure, virtuous characters and reflection of our beloved bridegroom, Jesus! I prayed for you tonight asking the Lord to send you and your family times of refreshing even this week and to strengthen all of you in the inner man with His might! I asked for angels to come and minister to all of you and fill your homes with the presence of the Lord. Carol, You have so much to give to this generation of women, leading them to love their husbands and the Lord as you so completely did and to live lives of purity and holiness! And I read somewhere you have lots of grandkids – how delightful! I bet you are their favorite grandma!
I pray God’s countenance continue to shine upon you and His grace fill you! May all of you feel the rejuvenating power of the Holy Spirit even now. Bless you and thank you for all your years of kindness to me.

Carol,

I haven't seen You or Jerry in 20 years since I attended church at what is now Church in Marshall while going to school at ETBU. Over the years I have thought many times about the impact that Jerry had on my life. He was such a reflection of Jesus and there have been many times that I think back and remeber things that he said and it always brings a smile to my face. I regret losing touch with many people over the years but Jerry is one that I have often wanted to get in touch with and just let him know that I turned out OK. It seems odd that this year I just wanted to look him up and got busy then spent two months in the hospital before I had the baby a month early. I just didn't take the time, today Aiden was sleeping and I got online and did a search hoping to give Jerry a call and say hello and it led me here. Wow, I am so sorry that he is gone but thankful that I had the opportunity to know him. He was truly a blessing to so many lives and he made an impact on every life that he touched. He will be missed greatly. You and the boys and their families will be in our prayers. I was a pretty messed up kid when I showed up at Solid Rock, now I have a beautiful family, 4 sons (19 yrs, 16 yrs, 12 yrs and 2 months) and 1 daughter (14 yrs)and all of my children have a passion for Jesus, Jerry had a lot to do with that and for that I thank you and your family for sharing him with so many people that needed his loving but firm guidance to get on the right path. Thank you again and my prayers are with you.

Blessings,
Adrian, Karen, Kaleb, Zach, Jared, Jordan and Aiden 214-383-3353

Dear Carol,
We love you dearly. You are often in our thoughts and prayers. You and Jerry have meant so much to us over the past 22 years. Everyone says we love you and the boys. I'd like to say they are very much MEN in their on right. The memorial service was wonderful and a testament to what you and Jerry put into those men. God has richly blessed us all through the relationships we've had. We are here for you and your family. We love you.

My thoughts and prayers are with all of you during this time. Jerry was a precious man who was an inspiration, and example in the way he lived his life. May God's peace surround each of you.
