Flor de los Angeles Cely, age 66, of Norwalk, passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 23, 2016 in her home. Born in Tuta, Boyaca, Colombia, the daughter of the late Justiniano Cely and Catalina Baron, she came to the United States 23 years ago, living in Florida, Washington State and in the Stamford and Norwalk area. She was an accomplished free lance seamstress who enjoyed creating and repairing clothing for her family and friends. She was a wonderful cook, especially in making her Colombian desserts. Flor was a devoted mother, sister, aunt and friend. Although she came to America at a later age, she was able to succeed despite the challenges she faced acclimating to a new country. She was quiet and dignified but also fiercely independent and always willing to sacrifice for the betterment of her family. She will be sadly missed by her large and extended family who loved her so very much. Survivors include two beloved children, Rafael Osorio of Bogota, Colombia and Catherine Osorio of Norwalk; five sisters, two brothers, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four brothers and sisters. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, March 28, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. meeting directly at St. Ladislaus Church, 25 Cliff Street, Norwalk. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Friends may call SATURDAY, March 26th from 2-6 p.m. in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield.
