Gerald Sidney Tripp, 73, husband of Pat Burrell Tripp, died Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at Greenville Memorial Medical Center.
Born in Anderson County, he was the son of the late Grady Ellis and Vivian Bagwell Tripp.
Mr. Tripp was a US Army Reservist and a retired builder/developer and owner of Tripp's Custom Cabinet Shop. He attended Siloam Baptist Church and was a member of the Piedmont Senior Golf Association and the Foothills Senior Golf Association.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son, Tony Tripp of Powdersville; a daughter, Kristie Gentry and husband Scott of Powdersville; four grandchildren, Tonya Tripp of Powdersville, Josh Gentry and wife Brittney of Powdersville, Austin Gentry of Clemson, and Kaci Gentry of Powdersville; three great granddaughters, Olivia, Anna-Ryleigh, and Emma-Leigh; a brother, Eston Tripp and wife Betty of Powdersville; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers Larry and Vaughn Tripp.
Visitation will be held Thursday, July 14, 2011 at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown from 5 to 8 p.m. The funeral service will be Friday, July 15, 2011 at Siloam Baptist Church at 1:30 p.m. with burial following in the church cemetery.
"Goose" will never be forgotten.
